Camera in Hand, Cursor on Standby
I am an Alabama-based photographer, communications professional, and multimedia specialist with a background in visual storytelling and creating digital content in higher education and sports entertainment.
I first developed an interest in communications while attending Sylacauga High School. As a member of Future Business Leaders of America, I competed at both the state and national levels, placing second in Desktop Publishing in 2013 and first in Digital Design and Promotion in 2014. Beyond FBLA, I served as both an editor and photographer for the yearbook, wrote for the school newspaper, and worked as the Public Relations Officer for the French Club. During my senior year, I also helped lay the foundation for SHS Aggie TV.
After graduating, I attended Auburn University at Montgomery, where I joined the University Honors Program as a freshman and was later inducted into the Omicron Delta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies. Through the Honors Program, I founded and edited a new newsletter, The Honors Chronicle. I also began working on student photography and videography projects during my junior year and, in my senior year, joined The Aumnibus, the university student newspaper, as a staff writer. I graduated magna cum laude in May 2018.
While still a student, I was hired by Auburn Montgomery’s Strategic Communications and Marketing Department. In this role, I produced spotlight stories, weekly digital newsletters, and press releases, while also contributing to website updates, photo editing, graphic design, video production, and digital advertising, including social media. After graduation, I continued with the department, where I now serve as a Communications Assistant and University Photographer.
In addition to my primary employment, I regularly take on freelance and contract work in photography, videography, and journalism. My experience includes filming for the Southern States Athletic Conference, operating cameras for the Montgomery Biscuits, writing for Womcom Media, and assisting the director of the documentary Covert Devotion: The Aurora Ritter Story. I also run my own business, Parrish Visuals, where I provide photography services for portrait sessions and private events, such as baby showers, birthday parties, political campaign events, school productions, and weddings.
